Rick Wurster is Head of Schwab Asset Management Solutions, an internal organization comprised of Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. (CSIM), Charles Schwab Investment Advisory, Inc. (CSIA), Asset Management Client Solutions, and the Schwab Center for Financial Research. Additionally, Mr. Wurster is Chief Executive Officer of CSIM and CSIA.

Previously, Mr. Wurster led ThomasPartners, Inc. (ThomasPartners) and Windhaven Investment Management, Inc. (Windhaven), eventually merging them into CSIA to create an integrated registered investment adviser. Prior to these roles, Mr. Wurster was a portfolio manager at Wellington Management where he provided fundamental, quantitative, and technical analysis across global asset classes. He also spent time as head of Wellington's asset allocation business, served on the technology leadership committee, and was a member of the equity review group, providing oversight and direction to the firm's equity strategies. Prior to Wellington, Mr. Wurster worked at McKinsey & Company as a leader in the asset management practice, responsible for conducting various investment, strategic, and operational projects for the senior management of asset managers, institutional investors, private equity firms, and insurance companies.

Mr. Wurster earned a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Science in economics from Villanova University. He is a CFA® charterholder and a Chartered Market Technician® (CMT).
